Peel-off protective coating

Blue-Kote, manufactured by Dr. Shrink, is a temporary film made to protect boat surfaces during transport, construction, or storage. The acrylic latex material protects any smooth, nonporous surface. The product is spread with a brush or spray and has a peel-off protective coating. The liquid coating is non-toxic and water-based that air-dies to form a durable, scratch-resistant film, the company says. Blue-Kote can be used on gelcoat, polycarbonate, glass, porcelain, aluminum, stainless steel, nonskid fiberglass, and cured paint. It protects these materials from damaging paint, plaster, sealants, resins, polyurethane foam, and abrasives. However, Blue-Kote is not recommended for acrylics.
