Walker Bay inflatable dock
Walker Bay® Boats launches its AirDock™, an inflatable dock that is designed using the company’s proprietary AirWeb™ High-Pressure Construction, making the dock a rigid and stable platform that users can walk on or dive from, the company says. AirWeb is formed from a heavy-duty seven-layer polymer coated fabric that is joined inside by thousands of drop-stitch fibers, making it possible to inflate to more than 6.5 PSI. This creates a rigid platform that is strong enough to endure several adults, kids, and even the family dog, the company says. Underneath the deck, there are four Aqua-Loc™ ballast bags to trap water and prevent the AirDock from slipping on the water’s surface. The 16 heavy-duty stainless steel D-rings are attached in the same way as the towing rings on inflatable boats ensuring the dock will be secured to the boat, anchor, or other docks. At a little more than 60 square feet, the company says the AirDock can be used for swimming, sunbathing, wake boarding, water skiing, or diving and can even dock personal watercraft. Unlike a traditional wood dock, the AirDock is compact, stowable, and requires no maintenance other than simple cleaning, the company says. The AirDock measures almost 8 feet in length and beam, has a wall thickness of 8 inches, and more than 1 ton of buoyancy. Weighing only 22 kg, it comes with its own carrying bag and a high-pressure pump for inflation. The dock also offers the options of utility covers, coolers, pillows, and sun covers. The AirDock retails for $1,999, comes with a six month limited warranty, and is available through Walker Bay dealers and distributors. www.walkerbay.com
