BoatUS Sponsors Boating Television Show
Published on July 15, 2021When New England boaters want to learn more, do more, and get more from the boating lifestyle, they can now can tune into the “The Drift,” a new weekly half-hour broadcast that premiered June 20 on the New England Sports Network (NESN). Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatUS) is the presenting sponsor of the new boating television show that runs 13 episodes over its inaugural season.
The show reaches over 5 million NESN and NESN+ viewers from Connecticut to Maine as well as 2 million nationwide channel subscribers on direct broadcast satellite DISH and Direct TV networks. “The Drift” comes from Sociable!, an Emmy Award-winning production company and the creators of “Boat Build,” a podcast that first aired in 2018 to celebrate small New England boatbuilders, and “Caught in Providence,” a half-hour show airing on local affiliate stations across the country that chronicles Judge Frank Caprio’s municipal court. Sierra Goodwill, a former sports reporter who has covered the New England Patriots and Boston Celtics, Bruins and Red Sox, hosts “The Drift.” Show creator and producer John Methia said, “’The Drift’ is more than boating. The show embraces the entire boating lifestyle.”
“The Drift” offers practical and safe boating tips from the editors of BoatUS Magazine including well-known angler and boater Lenny Rudow, as well as range of BoatUS experts such as Capt. Clint Allen of TowBoatUS New Bedford. Segments include “Movers and Shakers,” “From the Galley,” “Boat Build,” “Wet Tech,” and a destinations segment, “Drift N’ To.”
