Hurricane Hole Grand Opening
Published on January 18, 2023After extensive marina and upland improvements, the Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina celebrated its grand opening at the end of 2022. After a two-phase overhaul, the campus on Paradise Island, Bahamas can now accommodate superyachts up to 420’ in length. Upland improvements included the renovation and expansion of luxury dockside residences as well as a wine and liquor store, poolside bar and grill, and fitness center.
The celebration on November 25, saw appearances from owner and Executive Chairman and Founder of Sterling Global Financial, David Kosoy, Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Rt. Honourable Philip Davis, and Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper. Entertainment was provided by a live steel drum band, acclaimed Bahamian vocalist Stazzie Appleyard, and a local celebration known as a Junkanoo Rush Out.
“We’re proud of what the Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina means for The Bahamas and Bahamian economy as we celebrate the start of an exciting new chapter of the marina’s long, storied legacy on Paradise Island,” said Kosoy. “While this grand opening marks a major milestone of our work, we look forward to even more to come as Hurricane Hole continues to grow its offerings to serve the yachting community.”
The grand opening hardly marks the end of development for the marina as plans for early 2023 include the opening of three restaurants, a pharmacy, gourmet grocer, and beauty salon.
Prime Minister Davis recognized the grand opening as a welcome addition to the commonwealth’s tourism industry. “The Bahamas has long been the premier vacation and luxury destination in the Caribbean, and I dare say the Western Hemisphere,” said Davis. “The Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina and the Residences at Paradise Landing are fitting and welcome additions to the continued development of The Bahamas’ world-renowned tourism product.”
