NMLA Kicks Off 2025 Webinar Series

Continually educating its members on evolving issues that challenge the marine lending industry is a primary objective of the National Marine Lenders Association (NMLA).  Addressing the ongoing threat of fraud is top and center of NMLA’s strategic agenda, as highlighted in their recently produced webinar “Fraud Awareness in Marine Lending.”

The webinar focused on case studies of consumer fraud involving marine dealerships, the growing impact of AI, direct-to-bank applications fraud and consumer fraud in private party transactions.  Presenters, representing over 75 years of collective marine lending experience highlighted some hands-on strategies that might help protect a company from similar threats.

Feedback from the 129 attendees has been exceptionally positive, all requesting additional education on this evolving and challenging business risk.

Next up on NMLA’s 2025 educational calendar is their Marine Lending Workshop, which takes place March 2-4 in Orlando, Florida.  Fraud prevention will also feature prominently at the upcoming workshop, and at the NMLA’s Annual Marine Lenders Conference later in the year.  Full details of the workshop, including the agenda, can be viewed HERE.
