Upgrades Underway at Seattle Marina
Published on April 28, 2025Seattle Parks and Recreation is seeing progress on its $7.9 million marina and wave attenuator project at South Leschi Marina on Lake Washington. While in-water work is expected to take place in the summer of 2025, the project team plans to begin upland utility work this spring. The project will replace the antiquated creosote fixed timber pile docks that have approached the end of their usable life. A new floating breakwater will replace the existing ineffective pipe pile breakwater. The project also plans for a new black water pumpout and will welcome public transient dockage for the first time. Divers will also perform lake-bottom cleanup at the marina site.
