ABBRA Announced Award Winners

The American Boat Builders and Repairers Association (ABBRA) recognized several businesses and members at its Annual Awards Ceremony, held January 30 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Boatyard of the Year Award was presented to Hinckley Yacht Services of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, for demonstrating excellence in customer care, workmanship, professionalism, workforce development and maintaining industry standards.

Ranger Tugs was the winner of Boat Builder of the Year recognizing its commitment to innovation, sound engineering, workmanship, teamwork and professional project management. The Innovation in Technology Award went to The Hinckley Company for the construction of the first fully electric luxury boat that used titanium hardware, and 3D printing for console details. John Adey of American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) was awarded the Dennis Snow President’s Award for his leadership in building an effective team at ABYC that boat builders, repairers and associated businesses depend upon. The following group received ABBRA Certified Marine Service Manager certifications: Jessica Parker (Parker’s Boat Yard), Tim Shields (The Hinckley Company), Nadia Williams (Lambs Yacht Center), and Sean Gilligan (Brewer Yacht Yard at Greenport).
