ABBRA Offers Train the Trainer Certification

The American Boat Builders and Repairers Association (ABBRA) is offering a train-the-trainer certification program at the 2019 Refit Show, from April 10 to 11 at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The two-day program, provided in cooperation with The Landing School, is a series of six seminars aimed at helping businesses build loyal and technically skilled workforces. Instructors will train prospective industry trainers by providing structure and guidance for instructing both incumbent workers and entry-level workers. Employers and subject matter experts (senior technicians) will learn to develop a work-based learning program that is learner-centered. Senior technicians will develop performance objectives and assess the performance of the learner. Those who complete this six-session program will receive a continuing education certificate.

The courses include sessions on becoming an effective instructor; creating a training program; developing workplace training standards; creating a learning environment in your working environment;  creating a positive culture and case studies.
