Bills Bay Marina Is 13th MN Certified Clean Marina
Published on November 1, 2017Bills Bay Marina in Red Wing, was certified as Minnesota’s 13th Clean Marina under the Minnesota Clean Marina Program.
Manager Zach Paider attended a Clean Marina Workshop in March and began work immediately to ensure his facility met the program requirements. The checklist for certification includes 300 Best Management Practices (BMP). Applicants must meet 100 percent of the required BMP’s and 65 percent of the “optional” BMP’s.
The Minnesota Clean Marina Program is a voluntary, incentive-based program aimed at helping marinas reduce pollution and protect the waterways. The program is managed by a group of marina owners and managers who give their time to manage the program and conduct site visits.
