California Boating Congress Agenda Announced
Published on January 29, 2018The marine industry and boating community will head to the California state capital on February 27 to 28 for the third annual California Boating Congress. The event brings the recreational boating community together to share information on what they are and what they contribute to the economy and culture of the state.
At an opening reception Robert Newsome of the National Marine Manufacturers Association, will provide the keynote address on the economic and recreational impact of boating in California. Bret Gladfelty from the Apex Group will then summarize this year’s legislative and regulatory issues impacting the industry and give instructions for meeting with legislators. The following day will have breakout sessions on topics including abandoned boat programs, new vessel operator requirements, proposed changes to the Boating & Waterways Commission, State Lands Commission programs, and other current issues. Following lunch, attendees will go to the state capitol to meet with legislative representatives.
The California Boating Congress is organized through the collaboration of the Marine Recreation Association, Worldwide Boaters Safety Group, California Yacht Brokers Association, National Marine Manufacturers Association, California Marine Affairs and Navigation Conference, Personal Watercraft Industry Association, California Sportfishing League, California Delta Chambers & Visitors Bureau, Recreational Boaters of California, Bay Planning Coalition, Sacramento Valley Marine Association, and California Association of Harbor Masters & Port Captains.
