Freedom Boat Club Locations in Florida Offer Life Jackets Loaners for Kids
Published on October 22, 2019The Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach and St. Augustine locations of Freedom Boat Club are participating in the BoatU.S. Foundation’s Life Jacket Loaner Program for Kids. The program allows boaters to borrow a child’s life jacket for a day at no charge. The local Freedom Boat Club locations join more than 500 locations across the country that are participating in the program, which began in 1997.
“We are committed to boating safety and encouraging best practices on the water,” said Lisa Almeida, co-owner of Freedom Boat Club in Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach and St. Augustine. “We are very pleased that the BoatU.S. Foundation selected us to participate in this worthwhile program.”
If a boating family realizes there are not enough properly fitting children’s life jackets on board, they can visit any of the First Coast Freedom Boat Club locations by land or water and sign out an infant, child, or youth jacket for the day. When they have finished for the day, they return it to the same location.
Each year, more than 140,000 life jackets are loaned nationally as part of the BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety & Clean Water program.
Freedom Boat Club Jacksonville is at 12807 San Jose Blvd. at Julington Creek Marina. The location at Jacksonville Beach is at 2315 Beach Blvd. at Beach Marine and the St. Augustine location is at 3036-A Harbor Dr. at Camachee Cove Marina.
