Improvement Project in Ogdensburg, New York
Published on April 1, 2025Along the St. Lawrence River between Montreal and Lake Ontario, the city of Ogdensburg just ended its open bid process for Phase II of a marina improvement project. The project will replace a number of steel slip piles and main dock floats along with select slip floats and overhaul the existing dockside electrical and water supply infrastructure.
The city applied for funding for the marina improvement project, along with four similar shoreline improvement projects through the state’s REDI program back in 2022. Following the flooding events on the St. Lawrence and Lake Ontario in 2017 and 2019, the state of New York initiated the Resilience and Economic Development Initiative (REDI) to fund such shoreline stabilization projects around Lake Ontario.
The municipal marina currently has 67 wet slips with 64 dedicated to seasonal rental and three reserved for transient boaters. The marina is within walking distance of the new Dobisky Visitor’s Center, which has a private lounge with showers, bathrooms and laundry facilities as well as an outdoor patio, kitchen area and a food and beverage concession stand.
