KIDS in BOATING Grant Awardees Announced
Published on July 23, 2018The Massachusetts Marine Trades Educational Trust (MMTET) has announced the recipients of this years KIDS in BOATING grant awards. The organization awarded sixteen grants totaling $13,100. Grant awards ranged from $500 to $1,000.
The nonprofit grant recipients were:

- Boys & Girls Club of Lynn – Creighton Pond Camp
- Captain Chris Shaw Memorial Sail for Kids
- Community Boating Center, Inc.
- Crossroads MA
- Friends of Scituate High School Sailing
- Greater Fall River RE-CREATION
- Hingham Maritime Center
- Merrohawke Nature School
- Outward Bound / USCG Foundation
- Piers Park Sailing Center
- Pleasant Bay Community Boating
- Sail Salem Community Boating
- Save the Harbor / Save the Bay
- South Shore YMCA – symca.org
- Youth Group Church of the Holy Spirit
The KIDS in BOATING grant program financially supports nonprofit youth programs in Massachusetts. The grant review committee chose programs that shared a common goal of getting more kids on the water in a safe and smart manner. Over the last two years, the KIDS in BOATING initiative has given out 27 grants totaling more than $24,000.
2018 KIDS in BOATING sponsors include 3A Marine, Robalo Boats, Hingham Shipyard Marina and Newburyport Marinas.
