MN Seeks AIS Advisory Committee Members
Published on December 23, 2020The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking applications from Minnesota residents to serve on the Aquatic Invasive Species Advisory Committee. There are currently three appointments available for new members to serve a three-year term and NMMA is strongly encouraging stakeholders to apply by the January 22 deadline.
The Aquatic Invasive Species Advisory Committee is a 15-member committee established in 2013 by the DNR to help guide the agency’s AIS prevention and management activities. The committee focuses on program direction, emerging research needs, communications, and funding strategies. The DNR desires for a diverse and well-rounded committee, reflecting a wide variety of stakeholders.
The committee holds eight meetings throughout the year and is currently meeting online due to COVID-19. The expected monthly time commitment for advisory committee members is 6 to 16 hours a month. To apply, applicants must be a Minnesota resident and submit their application by 4:30 p.m. CT on Friday, January 22.
