MTA/NJ Elects New Board of Directors
Published on May 7, 2021The Marine Trades Association of NJ held their virtual Annual Meeting & Elections April 29 and appointed their 2021-2022 Board of Directors.
Greg Wright of John B. Wright Insurance Agency will begin his term as president of the Association. George Fuller of George Fuller’s Marine & Machine was appointed to first vice president, and Colleen Blake of All Points Marine Services was elected second vice president. Ed Harrison, III of Baywood Marina remains the treasurer and Raymond Bogan of Sinn, Fitzsimmons, Cantoli, Bogan, West & Steuerman continues as secretary. Ed McCarthy of McCarthy’s Marine Sales will stay on the board as immediate past president.
Tom Micai of Margarita Yacht Sales was appointed to the board as a new director. The following directors were re-elected to serve another two-year term: Mark Cassidy of Cassidy’s Breton Woods Marina, Karen Gruppuso of Coastal Environmental Consulting, Debbie Mooers of Grassy Sound Marina, and Pat Salinas of Morgan Marina.
Jerry Bench of Win-Tron Electronics, Ray Fernandez of Bridge Marina Inc., Aaron Held of Octopus Yachts: Marine Electrical Systems, Brian Houf of MESCO, and Eric Traber of Pier 47 will all continue their terms as Directors.
The active past presidents that will continue to serve on the Board include: Jim Cerruti of Fair Haven Yacht Works, Don Ditzel of Comstock Yacht Sales & Marina, Fred Brueggemann of Key Harbor Marina & Yacht Sales, Ed Harrison, Jr. of Baywood Marina, Tom Leaming of Leamings Marina, Paul Terzian of Causeway Marine Sales, and Rick Traber of Pier 47 Marina.
The meeting also featured an Association Update from executive director Melissa Danko, and a legislative update from lobbyist Rob Nixon of State House Strategies.
The 2020 Sponsors of the Year were awarded to John B. Wright Insurance, Pettit Marine Paint, and Travelers Ocean Marine Insurance.
