PCC Accepting Applications for Scholarships and Grants

The Pacific Coast Congress of Harbormasters and Port Managers is accepting applications for scholarships and project grants made available through the organization’s Barbara Schwantes Fund (BSF).

Scholarships and grants are available for up to $1000 and are issued through a competitive process. Applicants must reside in PCC’s region–Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, or the Canadian province of British Columbia. Deadline to apply is August 1.

The scholarships are intended for individuals planning to enroll or currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in a marine-related field including marine science, marine education, marine engineering, facility operations, boatbuilding and repair, engine repair, marine surveying and more.

Project grants are designed for projects that help promote the recreational and commercial boating industry and conservation, and that also raise the awareness of the PCC. Examples include youth boating and sailing clubs, teams, and camps; community marine outreach programs; waterway and shoreline conservation efforts; and more.
