Scanstrut Wins 2017 DAME Award

Scanstrut, based in the United Kingdom, won the 2017 DAME Award at this year’s METSTRADE show in Amsterdam. The company won for its RS Venture Connect Conversion Kit, which adapts the RS Venture dinghy to enable use by those with a variety of disabilities.

The RS Venture is used in many boat training and sail centers. The conversion kit provides a battery and control pack, a powered mainsheet winch, joystick control and sip-puff headset option.

The DAME Award had 122 product entries from 22 countries. Sixty-four products made it to the final competition where a jury selected the Overall DAME Winners, including seven category winners and another sixteen entries that received special mentions. The awards promote products that are important in marine equipment design, recognizing functionality, aesthetics, price efficiency and lifecycle management.
