Close to half of those responding indicated they never needed to dredge at their facilities (Fig. 3A). The remaining was a mixed response ranging from needing to dredge only during expansions or renovations, to requiring dredging annually (3%) or at least every five years (14%).

Marinas and boatyards faced some severe weather events in 2017 (Fig. 3B). Of the respondents, 25% were affected by hurricanes or tropical storms, 22% by ice, 20% by wind storm, and 15% by flooding. More than half of the facilities were Clean Marinas (51%), and 16% of facilities were in the process of certification (Fig. 3C).
