Tennessee Marina to Undergo Renovations
Published on August 15, 2023Major renovations are planned for Rock Harbor Marina, located seven miles west of downtown Nashville on the Cumberland River in Tennessee. Rock Harbor’s new owner, Dallas-based Prescott Group, plans to maintain the marina’s storied past while modernizing the facilities to offer new retail, dining, and eventually, housing opportunities. The group has big plans for the 29-acre campus which include improved parking, docks, and other boating amenities.
The marina currently offers 150 wet slips fit for vessels from 25 to 90 feet. The group plans to construct more docks to accommodate vessels 30 to 55 feet in length.
Since the 1980s the harbor has welcomed guests to its landmark restaurant, the Bluemoon Waterfront Grille. After the 2010 Nashville Flood, the Blue Moon was rebuilt on a floating dock in 2012 and will continue to be a part of the Rock Harbor legacy. “Blue Moon looks forward to collaborating with Prescott Group and being part of the great vision to bring Rock Harbor to its full potential,” said Joel Sullivan, partner. “Blue Moon has been popular for decades because it is so unique – a true Nashville original.”
The group has formed meaningful relationships with local government agencies to ensure the continued safety and accessibility of the harbor, which is an access point for Metro Nashville Police, Fire, and Emergency Response teams. “We are proud to have a strong relationship with the Metro government, especially in matters of safety and emergency response,” said
Jennifer Webb, general manager of Rock Harbor Marina. “We recognize the critical role that Rock Harbor Marina plays in providing essential services along the Cumberland River and our team will continue to work closely with Metro officials to ensure the safety and security of our community.” The group also developed partnerships with Nautical Boat Club and Boat Rental Nashville to enhance and expand customer services at the marina.
