U.S. Coast Guard Foundation Awards Scholarships

The U.S. Coast Guard Foundation has awarded 177 new scholarships to Coast Guard members and their families. Of this year’s recipients, 43 percent are STEM majors, 46 percent are children of active duty Coast Guard members and 54 percent are children of retired Coast Guard members.

The foundation also issues three multi-year scholarships and Fallen Heroes Scholarships. In 2018, 182 students have received funding for a total amount of $500,000. Over the 28 years of the program, more than $5.1 million has been given to more than 960 college-aged young adults.
