Village West Marina Awarded 5 Gold Anchors
Published on April 5, 2021Village West Marina was awarded ‘5-Gold Anchors’ by the Gold Anchor Global Marina Accreditation Program in a presentation ceremony held at the marina in March.
The Gold Anchor Global Marina Accreditation Program has been auditing marinas around the world for more than 25 years and is now being administered by the Marine Recreation Association in the United States with three California marinas being accredited to date. Similar to the Michelin ranking for restaurants, the program ranks marinas on the quality of their services, facilities, and customer service on a 2-5 “Gold Anchor” basis.
Village West Marina began the in-depth evaluation process last November. The MRA evaluation team conducted a detailed evaluation, which included a physical survey of the marina facilities and review of marina policies, procedures, and customer services encompassing 87 separate criteria. The ‘5-Gold Anchor’ award required a score of 85 to 94% on the assessment, which few marinas world-wide have achieved.
Kathy O’Brien, Past MRA Board Member, presented the award to Arron Pellarin, Partner/Owner of Village West Marina. Stockton California Mayor, Kevin Lincoln, and San Joaquin County Supervisor, Tom Patti, were also in attendance and both congratulated the Village West Marina team for their achievement.
Located in the heart of the California Delta, Village West Marina is accessible to vessels of all sizes via the San Joaquin River – Stockton Deep Water Channel from the San Francisco Bay and Pacific Ocean. With 600 covered boat berths and additional open slips the marina also boasts two restaurants, water-front vacation bungalows, RV parking sites, boat and kayak rentals, and a yacht sales office.
Other marinas that have received the Gold Anchor Global Marina Accreditation in California are the West Point Harbor, in San Francisco Bay, and the Safe Harbor Cabrillo Isle Marina in San Diego Bay.
