In July, boating continued to be top of mind for many consumers as they searched for outdoor recreation options that naturally allow social distancing. Discover Boating saw the following results in July:
- Organic website traffic (i.e. no paid ads) is up 215 percent over the same period last year.
- Manufacturer referrals for July were up 7 percent, with organic manufacturer referrals up 146 percent compared to July 2019.
- The site also continues to reach new people, with the following YOY increases in July:
- Users from 18 to 24 years saw a 117 percent increase.
- Users from 25 to 34 years saw a 33 percent increase.
- More female visitors continue to visit the site with a 49 percent increase.

- Discover Boating’s YouTube saw the ‘Get On Board’ campaign video generate more than 4 million views.
- Facebook highlights include the COVID-19 etiquette tips post, which saw more than 2,000 video views and a post on “How to Tie Up a Boat: Mooring Guide” saw the highest engagements and clicks to the site.
- Instagram highlights include a story series on COVID-19 etiquette tips that reached more than 4,000 users and a #PassTheHandle and #WakeResponsibly post and story series also saw strong performance
