Wireless Meter System
Published on March 7, 2018EML is offering a complete wireless meter reading system to enable marinas to monitor power and water usage at dockside pedestals either directly at the pedestal or through an offsite computer. To accomplish this, EML uses its PowerPUP transducer that’s configured to measure power and water use directly at the pedestal. The DT4 Transceiver, also installed at the pedestal, is a wireless device that broadcasts information from the PowerPup to the computer-based DogNet network, which is both a software and gateway package. The system requires one transceiver for every four metering modules. The transceiver will work with most power modules allowing existing local reading systems to be easily upgraded to a wireless system. Ground Fault monitoring (GFM) is standard. The PowerPUP and the DT4 are housed in a NEMA4X case with sealed terminal blocks.
